SHARE User Conference
Bled, Slovenia, 5-7 October 2022
The Survey of Health, Ageing, and Retirement in Europe (SHARE) will hold its 7th User Conference in Bled, Slovenia, on 5-7 October 2022. The conference theme is Ageing Societies Facing Natural, Technological and Social Crises of Present Time.
We are living in a time of global crisis. We have experienced the financial sector conditioned Great Recession, we are finishing the second year of the broad COVID-19 pandemic, and we are facing demographic change in advanced economies, as well as climate change, nature and biodiversity loss, and pollution and waste. The SHARE survey data is a unique tool to explore, describe, and understand ageing and the lives of people in ageing societies and times of global crisis from an international perspective and by involving researchers from different scientific fields. In addition, digital technologies with advances in Artificial Intelligence, the Internet of Things, analytics, and cloud computing allows us to back and track change through data-driven decision making.
In the framework of the 7th SHARE User Conference, we want to address these topics with invited speakers, special sessions and workshops while retaining the general format of the conference, accessible to novel research on any topic using SHARE data. We invite papers using SHARE data on all research areas covered in SHARE, ranging from Health, Work and Retirement, Pensions, Income and Wealth, Health care, Family and Social Networks, to Survey Methodology. We explicitly invite contributions that make use of the SHARE Corona surveys’ data, the longitudinal dimension of the SHARE data, combine SHARE data with data from an associated study (ELSA, HRS, JSTAR, CHARLS, etc.), or highlight recent findings of SHARE. The conference aims at bringing SHARE users from multiple disciplines and countries together to discuss ongoing research projects.

The official language of the conference is English.
The organizers are monitoring the covid-19 situation and reserve the right to change the conference format to hybrid or entirely online if there is a change in event policies.
